3.48/164/White

Post by mikcou » Wed Oct 21, 2009 3:39 pm

White applicant applying straight from top private university with a 3.48 LSDAS and a 164 LSAT. Practice tests were in the 169-172 range so also thinking of retaking in December. Have some research work experience and a fellowship. I'm mostly interested in the Boston/NY/D.C. schools so how am I looking at:

BU
BC
Northeastern
GW
American
Catholic
Fordham

I'm a 3.75/164 and applying to the same schools. Am I looking at the same results? Any optimism? Thanks guys!

Do you have an affinity to a particular area? You'd be in at most regional schools in the 30-50 range.

I have very similar, but slightly higher numbers (3.50/165). I met with an admissions officer at Fordham, who told me face-to-face, point blank, that someone with my numbers applying to the FT program, regardless of softs, will be waitlisted this cycle and reconsidered in april/may depending on the applicant pool. She said that if I retook the LSAT and went up to a 166, I would be an auto-admit.

Do with that information what you will. I'm going to take a small leap here and guess that going down 1 point to 164 would put you on the cusp of a reject/waitlist, though an admit would not be impossible. If I were you, I would either retake or apply to the PT program.
