3.72, 172 (2nd attempt), Good softs. Harvard?

Postby letmelearnlaws » Mon Oct 16, 2017 9:34 pm

I'm a senior at a top 40 liberal arts school majoring in Poli Sci and Philosophy, 3.72 GPA and scored 172 on the September LSAT (scored a 162 in June). I was also president of my fraternity, speak Spanish, and I've had several serious law-oriented internships (one for a human rights law group and one for a Senator, which is currently ongoing). I imagine that portfolio gives me a good shot at many T14 schools. Is it ridiculous for me to consider shooting for Harvard/Yale/Stanford? My top choice (other than those obv) is UVA, and 2 of my LORs came from UVA Law grads. How am I looking? HELP :D

It's not ridiculous to apply. You're unlikely to get into any of those three, but it doesn't hurt to submit applications.

You have a shot, stranger things have certainly happened, but your GPA is below 25th's and your LSAT is below median with the exception of S, which is more black box than H anyway.

I'd say you're in good shape for every T14 except HYS.

You should certainly apply to H. For Harvard, you're only below median on your GPA by four hundredths of a point. And you're almost at median LSAT score for H. I would throw an app to H. Can't hurt.

Median GPA is 3.86, OP is below the 25th by .04

I stand corrected. But, I still would chance it and submit an app to H.

Agreed, if OP has the extra $ for the app fee then i say it's definitely worth it
