Good shot at Wake with money, UNC is probably a fairly significant reach.

Re: 2.4/168
Unfortunately OP, a 2.4 is a significant impediment to where the average TLS'er is normally interested in attending. Realistically, it is lower than some of the medians for the worst law schools in America. With that being said, your LSAT is good enough to get a lot of us in the lower half of the T-14. So, (I'm no expert) but you've basically got two options: write a killer essay and apply broadly to every available NC school with your current numbers and then make a careful decision that considers scholarships, employment etc (you can even post here for some advice at that point-many of us are here to help!) Your other option would be to dedicate yourself to the LSAt through the resources available on this website and score a +175 this coming october/december as a method of further offsetting the 2.4; then write a killer essay and this should give you more money for scholarships and even make some schools in NC CHEAP.
In conclusion: you're going to be a candidate that is considered a "splitter," and will be accepted into law school almost solely on the strength of your LSAT. Because of this, if I were you, I'd dedicate myself to attaining the highest possible score and applying to Wake, UNC etc. There is very little negative in this approach. Good luck and keep us posted!

Re: 2.4/168
i had nearly similar stats a bit higher stat but gpa in the toilets, some southern law schools that have good regional power like UGA, Bama, Wake and Vandi are all willing to hand out tons of schollys for a high LSAT.
Also negotiating scholarship against all of them works really well, especially those SEC schools.

Re: 2.4/168
I had a 2.8/169 and got into lower t14s and got fairly substantial scholarships to other schools. So, anything is possible.
Mine may have been mitigated because I essentially went to college two different times and my second time GPA was much, much higher than the first. But whatever the reason , they did overlook the poor number.
Good luck.

You're already >75th LSAT and <25th GPA for both Wake and UNC, so I'm not sure what good retaking is going to do. If your current numbers don't get you decent money, there may be diminishing returns to a higher LSAT.

+1 Because Duke would not take that GPA unless you had amazing softs including URM. Don't apply to every law school in NC. Some aren't worth attending for free.

Re: 2.4/168
I agree, but with the caveat that I think 170-171 would be the point of diminishing returns. I don't think there's much difference between a 171 and 175 for OP at all (if any). I do think there's a bit of difference, mostly with scholly money, in a 168 and 171. I was a sub-3.0/170+ type who was getting close to full-ride offers from some TT schools, and I can't imagine that would've been the same had I been a single point above their 75th.shump92 wrote:+1 Because Duke would not take that GPA unless you had amazing softs including URM. I have zero data to back this up by the way.

Re: 2.4/168
For people who don't want T14 options. 168 probably is all that is needed.
Also apply to WUSTL+UMN+Bama+Illinois for scholly leverage. Also don't do your Wake interview while drunk.
