Why not just say you go to Chicago?

Just FYI, interning at the Supreme Court is not as helpful as you seem to think. This is going to sound counter-intuitive but, for law school anyway, that particular soft sounds....boring. You'd sound more interesting if you had taught junior high math, danced ballet, or worked for a year in Algeria. I'm not saying interning at the Supreme Court is going to hurt you, but you probably should disabuse yourself of the notion that it's an "incredible soft." Oh, and if you talk about it too much, you're going to sound douchey.

Anyway, I think you're likely in at HLS without a retake. But a retake probably wouldn't hurt, and could possibly improve your chances a bit.

While I think you're probably right, I think it's also quite possible OP went to Columbia or Stanford?

ETA: LOL, just noticed this:

Now I'm pretty convinced you're right.

To OP's question, you're prob in at HLS, YLS and SLS are a crapshoot.

Chances at H improve significantly when you move from a 173 to a 174. How long did you study for the LSAT? Was 173 higher or lower than your average practice test score going into the test? I ask because if you haven't maxed out your score and are confident you can do better (even it if is just by a point) on a retake I really think you should go for it. Especially since your GPA is hovering around their 25th. I think your softs are very impressive for a K-JD, however, you'll be competing against candidates who have your numbers and post-college work experience, which is generally weighted more heavily than anything you do during undergrad. I think you are a very strong law school candidate and will get into lots of amazing places as is, however, if HLS is your lifelong dream and you wind up getting rejected after not taking the LSAT again you are looking at a whole lot of regret.

I recommend a work year for everyone, and that'll really help your app. At H 25% are k-jd. If you're totally dead set on going now, apply, and if u don't get off the waitlist, gap/work year plus retake.

Why not use your T6 preftige and go make bank on Wall Street as a quant. You'll make biglaw money or better without spending 3 more years and $250k on school.

I feel like some of these people are just obsessed with collecting prestigious degrees.

Yeah. At least, close enough to make that claim.

Indeed. Although UChi is ranked only #12 in student quality, that is balanced out by its #1 ranking in rigor.
