Matters:
LSAT: 169
GPA: 3.6

Might matter but impossible to quantify:
softs: Fulbright

Rest doesn't matter

Check out http://www.mylsn.info for chances

what do people expect from these chance me threads?

Its like, "hey people who don't make this decision, why would I be different from another person with my exact same measurable stats in 2 lines of text"

This subforum is largely useless but works as a receptacle to keep the chances posts from cluttering other forums. It's an opportunity to point people towards mylsn at least, which is an awesome resource that everyone should know about.

The color-coded chart from MyLSN without having to actually run the search themselves.

This is the place to ask these questions. Geez what a prick.

I'm not t14 or bust. I'd be happy at Georgetown or Duke, but I'm not opposed to getting some good money in the 20s. Does anyone know if UCLA is decent with their money?

Christ I didn't know this site was around. Man you guys are really hostile about posting in a sub that hosts "what are my chances" questions.

I do think that including 2010-2015 and putting 170 could skew things, but so could putting 168 and sample size and whatnot. Plus it wouldn't surprise me if the Fulbright gave some sort of bump so it's all kind of whatever. Gives a good general sense, I don't know that taking 170 out would be better.

Just apply and see what happens. Also, retake in June.

I'm torn about a retake. I know TLS philosophy, but honestly... I just don't know if I have it in me to put the time in again. It requires dedication and I was already stretched thin with work. I don't know if I can do it hardcore again.

Now isn't really the time to be lazy. Plus there's no downside even if you don't study that much. See if you can bink something higher.

Excuse me you know nothing about my life. When I say stretched thin, I'm not kidding around. I'm not K-JD. I work full time and support a family. And what if my score dropped? Wouldn't that hurt me?

Nope, won't hurt. Might hurt at the Yales and Stanfords of the world but your GPA precludes you from those schools anyway. Any school that will take your GPA won't care about a drop.

Lots of us were old and worked full time when studying for the LSAT (me included). I have faith in your ability to take another multiple choice test, especially one that is so important.

Not taking the $200 freeroll when you are scoring in a range where every point matters tremendously would be a tremendous mistake.

Lurkerlarry, this is excellent advice.

I, too, know nothing about your life. But practicing law is demanding, dude. If you work at a law firm, the demands on your time (and the sacrifices you will have to make for your family) will likely be far greater than another few weeks of prepping for the LSAT while working full time.

Not a good excuse. We're talking about getting one or two more questions correct in order to dramatically improve your options. I had basically the same stats as you and called it good; wouldn't advise it.

Just another data point-I'm married with a family too. I was working 60-70 hour weeks when I was studying for the LSAT. The time leading up to finals every semester has been far worse than the LSAT. Everything I have seen leads me to believe practice will be even worse. If LSAT studying has been that tough, think long and hard about this decision, including why you are doing it and what that will mean for your family. FWIW, I'm graduating with my first choice job in my first choice market with under $100k in debt and I still second-guess the decision some days.

Doing this with a family is an enormous pressure that most law students don't have.

I think some of the people that reply here assume that what they know and what new posters know are the same. But if the OPs knew everything the repliers knew, OPs wouldn't be posting in the first place. Not just lurkerlarry, but in general. I some of the bias is a natural consequence of being on this site for too long and seeing the same Q/A over and over again.

That being said, I would encourage to retake if at all possible because the stakes are so great. Also, anecdotally I have heard that research Fulbrights are a greater soft that ETA Fulbrights, but I wouldn't put too much weight on either anyway.
