Re: hows it looking for me
well you need to post numbers for anyone to gauge your chances. all the schools you mentioned kinda suck for employment. i'd stick with a successful career instead of going to law school, personally. but mess around on mylsn.info for admission chances and lawschooltransparency.com for job numbers.

That is not a very good reason to go into law. I can assure you being a lawyer is not very exciting.GNA wrote:I am Bored with my current profession.
I feel I can do better assisting clients as an advocate versus their treater.
Ill likely go into labor law or civil lit.
Your age could be a hindrance to some employers. And all those schools are not good at placing into full-time lawyer jobs. I would not go to Golden Gate or USF, even for free, assuming you want to actually be a lawyer.

One more thing. Many successful attorneys in San Francisco graduated from GG and USF. You would be quite surprised.

What is your dream job? Law firm, government work, public interest?
Unless you go into biglaw, I can pretty much guarantee you'll never sniff anything close to $250k in law. You'll likely be working far more hours than you currently do for far less money than you currently make. Are you okay with that? And as others have said, law would be a terribly boring profession to most people. Why do you think it will interest you?

If they're successful, are they entry-level? Law schools and legal hiring have changed a LOT in the last 10 years, and it's difficult to use people from earlier years as examples of the possibilities available now.GNA wrote:One more thing. Also, of course people out of USF and GG can succeed. The question is how many of those grads succeed compared to those who don't.

Maybe I should have been on top-chiropractic-schools.com all this time.

Seriously. I would take a dump on my diploma and light it on fire in a named partner's office to make $250k and work chiropractor's hours.Dog wrote:Maybe I should have been on top-chiropractic-schools.com all this time.

All three schools have employment scores far below 50%.
You may think your current field is precarious, but you'd be jumping ship to the RMS Titanic.

If you really want to go, study hard for the LSAT and grab at least UC Davis/UCI for free (or huge discount). Their employment numbers aren't fantastic, but they're at least in the 60s.
What's your GPA? If it's 3.5ish, you'd only need a lower-middle 160s score.

Chiropractic is a BS profession but I think there is little chance you'll be able to make a difference in the world as a lawyer.

Yup. Only your GPA up until your first Bachelor's is granted counts though.GNA wrote: my undergrad GPA is strong but it's been over 16 years will it count ?

Correct.GNA wrote:So let me get this straight, my first BA is a 3.8 you're telling me that one trumps my second science BA of 3.2 . That's awesome
A URM with a 3.8 and some unique softs. The world is your oyster.
Are you specifically looking for a PT program or would you be open to full-time?
If you nail the LSAT, Berkeley or even Stanford aren't out of the question.

Re: hows it looking for me
lol non sequitur... anyway you wrote earlier about your dissatisfaction with your practice and I'm telling you that you might not find what you're looking for in law even if chiro is BS and you're not really helping people (to the large extent that it includes pseudoscience; beyond simple physical therapy). I bet there is something way more fulfilling that you can do with your spare time and money than law.GNA wrote:Mvp stay on the topic on hand. Your chirowatch bs is the last thing I care about at this point.
I live in the most sought out neighborhood in SF and I hold 2 BAs and taught biology at one of the best schools in the city. So your opinion about my profession really doesn't matter.
My concerns are relative to your profession .
Also to answer manofthehour , my undergrad GPA is strong but it's been over 16 years will it count ?

Re: hows it looking for me
Check out the LSAT Prep forum for ideas on how to start and what materials to use. Don't settle for anything less than a full-ride, and even then, the schools you listed very well may not be worth it.GNA wrote:Part time only which limits me I know.
