Is Harvard worth a shot this cycle with 3.7, 170?
Or is this just a waste of money? I'm a non-URM with average softs, LORs, and mediocre (probably below average) WE.

in the past four years 119 lsn users applied with similar stats, and 7 got in.
that's 5.8%. up to you to judge if that's worth the $113 it costs to apply.

You would have a better chance this cycle than any other cycle.
Yeah the odds are long, but why not if you can afford the application fee and are fine with riding the waitlist?

Personally think it's a waste considering below/at 25th%'s and nothing special(not that you aren't probably a great dude).

Aiming for Harvard rather than retaking for $$$ from other t-14's the real waste of money. Take a year off, do something awesome, and improve your LSAT if you can.YeezusPiece wrote:Or is this just a waste of money? I'm a non-URM with average softs, LORs, and mediocre (probably below average) WE.

Lol sorry. You're doing it right, OP. Nothing to add then, bur dirigo is right: No harm in giving it a shot; it's a crazy cycle.Dirigo wrote:*steals thunder* OP has exhausted his takes.everything_bagel wrote:Aiming for Harvard rather than retaking for $$$ from other t-14's the real waste of money. op hasn't "exhausted his takes"
Can have a 4th take as long is it is not the 4th LSAT in a 2 yr period

Which is precisely why OP has exhausted his takes.MattM wrote:op hasn't "exhausted his takes"

Are you suggesting OP wait until June 2016 to retake?
Don't disagree with what I said when you obviously don't know OP's specific situation.

how often does LSAC grant 4th takes upon appeal within the 2 year frame?

Unless your exam building was hit by a tornado, I'd say very rarely; otherwise, everyone would be clamouring for the 4th retake and LSAC would have to hand them out like candies and then it kinda dilutes the whole concept of 3 takes in 2 year restriction.ilikebaseball wrote:how often does LSAC grant 4th takes upon appeal within the 2 year frame?
And OP, I'd just give it a shot. Why not.

in a literal sense OP has not "exhausted his takes"....no true limit on # of takes although the less the better, ....He has only exhausted his takes within a 2 year periodDirigo wrote:Which is precisely why OP has exhausted his takes.MattM wrote:op hasn't "exhausted his takes"

Here are my thoughts, as someone who has the exact same stats: why the hell not? Like others said above, if you ever apply to HYS, this is probably going to be the best time to do it. I know I personally would rather send off hail mary apps than sit around and wonder if maybe I could have been in that lucky 5.8%. Who knows, you could be that special snowflakes that manages to make it, you never know.YeezusPiece wrote:Or is this just a waste of money?
