Hello I want to go to SMU law school with the above statistics. I am an Asian male?

What are my chances? I want to enroll in full time as well not part time.

Still want to know why someone with a 144 should not go? The LSAT is just not for me. Undergrad I did fine. I'm 20 years old at the moment and have to enroll by Fall 2015!!! Ugh hg pressure..

Both LSN and LSP seem to predict that you have a *very* low chance of both UT and SMU with those numbers. Of course, a 4.0 is an excellent GPA, and if you retake and score at least in the 160s, your chances increase significantly.

I am taking the Dec for the first time, is it possible to get up to a 160 from a 144 to there? My diagnostic was a 128 didint know I could get points for just bubling in answers and left many blanks.

Anyway, you could be real. I know many Asian students who are bookworms with good grades but do terribly on SAT/ACT/LSAT, etc without external assistance (also know many who do well without assistance).

So you could be one of those bookworms who can't really apply abstract rules. If this is the case, I would recommend taking a prep course since it'll be difficult for you to do it by yourself. But before you do anything else, be honest with yourself. Is there a career for law for you? Are you capable of getting 160 (i.e. among the top 20% of people you know)?

Also if you're getting the sense im Asian as in Chineese or something, I am not. I am a Pakistani male. I am taking a Kaplan course for the second time and reading the LSAT trainer. Hopefully law schools will decide if I am competent enough to practice law. I just need to get a 150 by DEC. I know that may seem easy for many to get, but not for me. I am happy to admit it. Also I have been studying since July 7th 2014 so about 3+ months. Hopefully I can write another in FEB if needed and that will be 7 months.

One problem is that English might be your second language. Perhaps you don't have enough experience with reading English. My son barely reads so he's going to wait a few years till his reading skills improve before taking the LSAT.

2. You don't need to be smart to practice law. You just have to be smart and lucky enough to get through law school and pass the bar exam. Heck, I know a lot of stupid lawyers, and amazingly enough they make good money since their clients couldn't tell the difference between a good and bad lawyer.

3. A 150 isn't likely going to get you into SMU or UT.

Everything you said could be true; however, English is not an issue for me. At least I don't think so. Moreover, it's the language the LSAT uses that screws one up. I was reading your initial post, and I inferred that one must get a 160 to be successful? So i can go to law school with my average stats now and can still be successful right? The LSAT has nothing to do with it.
