Hello,
Do I have a competitive chance or is it more of a reach at a T14 if I have a 25% GPA and a 75% LSAT for that specific school?
Unfortunately my mistake was picking a difficult school for undergrad…..My GPA is only 3.55 but on the LSAC grade distribution on the academic summary report it shows that only 20 out of 100 applicants from my school had over a 3.6 GPA
I've read in general that a 25%GPA with a 75% LSAT split will give an applicant decent chances…..I'm aiming for a December LSAT and applying to schools in January as soon as the scores come out by which time I could have a 3.6 GPA which would help a slight boost
( i got a 154 on the first LSAT i took but now aiming for a 170 in Dec, my last PT was a 168)
Thanks!

20 out of 100 over 3.6 is actually pretty high. But that doesn't really matter. Get the highest possible LSAT and you'll be fine. A 3.55 only really takes you out of the running for 3-4 schools in the entire country. If you wait a year and get your GPA up over 3.6 you'll be in great shape. Just knock the LSAT out of the park.

I am also a URM (South American/ Colombian) if that helps.
Would waiting until next year's cycle help at all from a GPA perspective?….I can get to a 3.6 by January when I apply but can get to a 3.65 by May graduation ( I'm not sure if .05 is pretty negligible or not though)

Colombian isn' going to get a URM boost (but I'd still write a diversity statement)

Waiting for next year's cycle gives you the following:MattM wrote:I am also a URM (South American/ Colombian) if that helps.

1. A higher GPA (every little bit counts)
2. More time to study for the LSAT
3. The chance to send in your applications early (instead of late December, which is bordering on being late).
