Sorry to have to tell you this, but you write poorly. It's very apparent. Doesn't make you a bad person or anything, but it does mean you may want to explore other options.

This has to be a flame, no? I understand typing fast in a forum and not having perfect grammar or spelling. But when you are defending your writing abilities one would think you would check your response.

Could you translate this to english for your prolish, non-yale bros, like myself?

Also, outside of extreme cases it is typically not holistic and a 2.0 semester in CC does not bode well for your admissions chances to Harvard, OP

Lol. As in, other stuff can matter, but not unless you have the numbers first. They're a baseline.

EDIT: sine qua non means "that without which". It's that thing without which nothing else matters.

Yeah, maybe. I'm just sending good karma into the cosmos on the assumption he's real and just misguided

You know what maybe it's best for me to contact someone from harvard instead of asking random people on this forum. At least I'll be better off by asking them.

Dude. You're a freshman in college, you just hit a 2.0, have literally JUST started your second semester, and you got on TLS to try to get a bunch of people who have graduated and are either in law school are are in the process of applying (and have therefore had to face the reality of LS admissions) make you feel good about getting into one of the most selective schools in the country?

I mean even if you aren't a troll, shake yourself awake or kick yourself in the head or something. If you got a 2.0 last semester, the last thing you need to be thinking about is getting into HLS five years from now. Why don't you read ahead for next week's assignments in all of your classes to make sure you are getting A's from this moment forward instead of spending even a second of your time on this forum?

On the off chance this isn't a flame and OP is still reading...

What, exactly, are you going to ask Harvard and what do you expect them to tell you? "Hi, Harvard? Yeah, I'm 18 and had a bad semester of community college, is it still possible for me to be admitted in four years?" "Um, sure, it's possible. Just concentrate on getting good grades and apply and see what happens." (click) "What the hell was that about?"

You're just going to get a vague, general, "go ahead and apply, we're very holistic, blah blah" answer. Law schools LOVE to have people apply that they know they're going to reject, because it boosts their selectivity. Calling Harvard is going to give you zero insight/information.

By the way I called Harvard and the program I talked about getting into doesn't even garuntee that your gonna get your LLM from Cambridge anyway due to the fact that they only select 6 people every 2L. So I'm not gonna waste my time on something like that. Thank you all for the replies though I really appreciate them.

Dude, I totally agree. If you're not going to get an LLM from Cambridge, what's the point in a JD from HLS? It's such a TTTT.

This killed me. A JD from Harvard? Feh! Not worth getting out of bed for.

OP, if you want to PM me with Q's we can chat about this more. But I am/was basically in the same situation. I started off my first semester of college with a 2.25 GPA. Pretty bad. It wasn't until midway through 2nd semester of Freshman year that I decided to get serious about school and decided to go to law school. I've been lights out ever since, averaging 3 A+'s a semester and at least a 4.0 LSAC GPA per semester. As a second semester junior now, I still have a year to go, but I have raised my cumulative LSAC GPA from that initial 2.25 to 3.52, and I'm on track for a 3.8+ if all continues to go well.

It has NOT been easy. But with commitment and dedication, it can be done. You just have to work your ass off and focus on the dream. Good luck!

@SpanishMain It's funny how you say a JD from Harvard isn't worth getting out of be for, but yet you act like you can get into that school if you apply for it.

What are you trying to say? I've read this sentence three times and I'm still confused.
