159/3.53

Postby lawstudent1021 » Wed Sep 18, 2013 8:30 pm

Applying to FSU,UNC, Colorado, Northeastern, UCONN, Miami, ASU, Tulane

Do I have a realistic shot to get into any of these schools even though I am out of state for each of them? How much of a difference does being out of state make?

Why are you interested in this hodgepodge of regional schools? Where do you have ties and hope to work?
Retake the LSAT. You should not attend any of these options without a near full ride, which you are unlikely to receive with your borderline numbers. Out of state won't greatly impact your admittance, but it will affect the price of public schools.

These schools are risky at in-state tuition. At OOS it's borderline insane. Where do you want to work?

This is what I'm wondering as well. I'ts like you threw a bunch of darts on a map and chose the better regional schools wherever you hit.

Northeastern, Miami, and Tulane are private schools, so being out of state means nothing in terms of admission or tuition. UNC is the only school I know of where you may be at a significant OOS disadvantage, since a pretty high percentage of their students must come from in-state.

Pretty good shot at FSU, Miami, and Tulane. Bad odds at UNC and CU. Not sure about Northeastern, UCONN, or ASU. Increase your LSAT just a few points and you'll be in at most of these schools with some $.
