Does a .04 change in GPA change my chances much
So i am in a hard class now and if I get an A my GPA will go up to 3.7 and If i get a B+ my gpa will go down to 3.64. My current LSDAS is 3.67. Will the -.03 really effect my chances at mid to lower T14 (Michigan Virginia Penn). (170 T25UG)

Ain't getting H with that LSAT anyway. Op, is the class required? Maybe worth dropping if you don't need it and have a non punitive withdrawal left. No point hurting your GPA if you don't need tosinfiery wrote:No, it might have an impact at HLS tho

Unfortunately it is Spanish and It is required and because it is part of a sequence if i do not take it this semester i will not graduate on time. My goal is umich. not really expecting HYSCCN anyways.

You can get umich with 3.64. Just get 171.

You really think the 171 over a 170 is worth a retake? (i already took it twice. got a 163 on the first one and a 170 on the second)

Re: Does a .04 change in GPA change my chances much
I just got a 170 on my retake after a 169 and my chances and money at the T-14 are significantly better because of it. If I get a 171 on my next retake, I'll be angry, but it will actually put me in a much stronger position at every T-14 except Yale and Stanford.
The rule of thumb is 1 point on the LSAT is 0.1 points on GPA. This isn't an exact science since many top schools accept students with super-high GPAs and low LSATs to keep their GPA medians, but you can use it as a guideline.
