3.59/180/Military Officer

Post by winstonsalem » Mon Jul 01, 2013 9:35 pm

I got my LSAT score back from the June LSATs today and was shocked to see a 180. My stats are that I have a 3.59 from West Point, and have served 4 years in the military (1 tour to Afghanistan). Non-URM. I'm wondering whether I have a shot at the top 3, or should I be reasonably expecting something below that level.

I say throw an app out there. I would sincerely hope one of these schools considers someone as awesome as you. Thank you for your service, and congrats on the 180 - you're a baller. That being said, I'm pretty sure you're going to bag at least 1 of CCN and many more on the way down, and a lot of those schools support the GI Bill/Yellow Ribbon Program which would cover most of your expenses. So at the very least, I think you're looking at a full ride (effectively) to a T6 schools.

Congrats! I would say blanket. Your GPA could be better but military could potentially help you out. Plus, apps are down.

Blanket the T-14, including HYS. It's probably worth the app fees.

I know one vet who got H with a 3.9/164, although he supposedly had some insane softs. If they were willing to dip below their LSAT floor for him, they may be willing to dip below their GPA floor for you.

you have a shot at any of the schools (i know a vet who went to HLS with <<3.5 GPA); blanket the T14 (and maybe even just the T6) and enjoy.

I dont know if my cycle is representative, but I am also a vet with about the same GPA and a lower lsat. I think YSH is definitely on the table and the rest are probably yours to lose. PM me if you want some info.
