You're the troll. Troll.

OP - How did you get a 180? You should create a study guide for trolls like Clearlynotstefan. I think his kind would greatly benefit from it. Forrealz.
Thanks for the offer, but I've been done with the LSAT.

If you guys are going to have a petty back and forth, do it via PM or in the lounge, stop trashing up this guy's thread. He's looking for advice, not a pissing contest, guys.

Your odds depend completely on how effectively you can convince them you will actually attend. Odds are, as a splitter, you won't get even close to a full ride there. And so even TLS will tell you not to attend that school at that price.
Also, it depends on your residency. UNC makes up their entering classes of only 30% out of state so that in itself makes for a hard prediction. My advice is to apply to as many schools as you can, especially within the T20, you may get some pleasant surprises. As with most other splitters though, you may just be stuck with a ton of waitlist offers in which case you pick which ones you like and ride them hard.
Also I say submit the grade addendum. Good luck!! :D

Not even a little.

Wouldn't even bother applying to UNC, personally.

Why is that? (referring to your suggestion to not bother applying)

Likely to cost the same to attend as a school with much better job prospects.

NYC? Yes, all t14s can get you there with x grades. Chicago may require ties or really great grades but UVA can get you there.

NY is actually the one market where ties matter the least, because it's the largest market. I don't think being in Chicago makes it any harder than Charlottesville.

I'd say apply everywhere below HYS but don't ED. With application numbers going down, you never know who will jump on that LSAT. Your GPA is below everyone's median's so most schools won't care that much how far below. If you ED, you'll end up paying sticker regardless so I think it's worth the gamble to see if you get some money.

Er, meant breaking into the Chicago market would require ties from UVA

Agreed on NY

Ahh I see. I agree. UVA --> NY will be easy, but UVA --> Chi will be very, very difficult unless you have ties to Chicago (family, SO, lived there in the past). UVA pretty much exclusively feeds into DC and NY (assuming no ties). If you want Chicago you should definitely go to NU, it places well above its ranking in Chicago. Any T14 you go to will give you a good shot at NY.

I appreciate the positive sentiments, but getting into law school with a low GPA is harder than it's ever been, judging by schools' 25th percentiles.

True. I think these 25ths are going to plummet shortly though. Dearth in high LSAT = more splitters accepted = lower 25th.

Then again, medians are a bizarre statistical creature. We have no idea how low the bottom 20% of GPA's are, and what the distribution really looks like in the middle quartiles.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
