Top Law Schools

I am getting ready to apply to Law Schools in the Fall. I graduated in 2008 with a low GPA from a small school, due to the fact I worked full time while attending school full time. My Major GPA was a 3.3, and Cumulative was a embarrassing 2.6, hardly went to class due to work. I took the LSAT for the first time in October of 2012 and scored a 178. I have been advise to write an addendum for my low GPA, but will I have a Chance at Georgetown or Harvard? I plugged in my states into http://www.hourumd.com/ and it said I have a 1% chance. Has anyone every been accepted into HLS or GULC with those kind of states, I am also a URM.

Any insight would be awesome!

What type of URM? You make super splitters look like median applicants! Do you have your official LSDAS gpa? Unfortunately it's going to be difficult for anyone to give you solid chances, you're such an outlier I'd be surprised to find many similar applicants that shared their cycle on here or LSN.

You're going to have an incredibly unpredictable cycle. That being said, I can't imagine GULC not wanting to scoop you up for your LSAT score (to help its LSAT median, which will likely decline after this cycle). Harvard is a completely different story... a sub-3.0 is going to put you way below their GPA floor.

Because your numbers are so uncommon, it's going to be impossible to rely on a predictability calculator. Your best bet is to go to law school numbers and look up a similar candidate and see how they fared; if there is one. It is my gut feeling that you should not have much trouble with Georgetown, but that Harvard will probably not accept you. I'm sure someone more qualified than myself can offer advice, but mine is to blanket the T14 as well as the usual of USC, Texas, Vandy etc. See what happens.

Do your research, however. Harvard and Georgetown are very different schools. I think it would be wise to spend a solid afternoon researching schools you're interested in on these forums, as well as on lawschooltransparency.
