There are two -- and only two -- intelligent choices here: (1) Retake, or (2) do not attend law school.

It is very unlikely to be admitted under both medians.

Here are the most accurate employment statistics available for the two schools:
http://www.lstscorereports.com/?school=rutgers-newark
http://www.lstscorereports.com/?school=setonhall
Attending either school is a recipe for perpetual debt slavery. Regardless, you are far below LSAT and GPA medians for both schools, meaning admission to either one is extremely unlikely.

people all over this seem to think they know everything and had me terrified i wasn't getting into any school. let me tell you this. i applied to 6 schools, 3 of which my LSAT fell below the 25th percentile and 3 of which I was below the median. My GPA did not exceed the 25th percentile. I had a very strong resume and excellent recommendations, applied early in the cycle, and was accepted to every single school. Do not let this board discourage you.

NYLS will accept anyone with a heartbeat. Job prospects for their gradutes are slightly above anyone without a heartbeatjhd125 wrote:people all over this seem to think they know everything and had me terrified i wasn't getting into any school. let me tell you this. i applied to 6 schools, 3 of which my LSAT fell below the 25th percentile and 3 of which I was below the median. Not that I intend to argue, I have a cousin that went to NYLS and is now a 3rd yr associate at a 1500+ attorney firm, partner track...

It happens. There are people coming out of there and being successful, but only about 1/3 of the class of 2011 is working as a lawyer (JD required full time job). that's pretty bad for a school that charges just as much as Harvard and Columbia.MASSattack1 wrote:Not that I intend to argue, I have a cousin that went to NYLS and is now a 3rd yr associate at a 1500+ attorney firm, partner track...

I'm a 0L with another anecdote FWIW--my ex works at a large firm in NY and interviews candidates for their associate positions. He said that they interview a couple of NYLS students/grads every year (compared to a ton from the top schools). So the top students are not shut out, though chances are not awesome there for the randomly selected grad.MASSattack1 wrote:dingbat wrote:NYLS will accept anyone with a heartbeat. I'm not even sure how or why NYLS showed up when the thread was about Rutgers/ Seton Hall. NYLS is fine .. if you can go there for free.gaud wrote:Doesn't change NYLS's numbers.Tier2Allstar wrote:love the people that point to LST when Seton Hall is right between UCLA and Georgetown

I've actually got a lot of issues with LST and I think that they're well-meaning, but not the solution they want to be.Tier2Allstar wrote:love the people that point to LST when Seton Hall is right between UCLA and Georgetown
That being said, there's a clear pecking order in NY, and NYLS is at the bottom of the pile. Considering the current state of the legal economy, in my opinion no one should attend NYLS (or worse, Touro). I also think the LSAT should have a pass/fail component. If you can't get at least a certain score, you're just not ready for law school yet. (and despite TLS common wisdom, the kind of mental skills required for the LSAT do overlap with the kind of skills necessary to do well in law school, which overlaps with the kind of skills required to be a good lawyer)

I agree with dr123. But honestly, going to law school probably won't make much sense for you unless you score at LEAST a 160.

OP, you can do better on the LSAT. Right now you're only fifteen points better than marking "C" for every question.
