If I can get in this year, I'll get in next year right?

Got into Michigan this year, but just barely. I would like to defer but I applied early admission and will most likely not get a deferral. However, logic follows if I got in this year, next year I will be a stronger candidate (deferring to work another year) and LSAT takers are still going down which I'm going to assume means a lower quality applicant pool. Therefore, I will most likely get in next year. Something like that?

Likely but not 100%. Weigh the risks and benefits and make your own call, as that'll be a very personal decision.

Yea, I would worry about this if you really want to go to Michigan.

I would ask about the deferral first. I know some of the other T14s are happy to give ED deferrals.

Agreed, be careful OP. I'd start by asking them if they'd let you defer, then weigh your options.
