February LSAT for Fall 2013

Postby peanutbutta » Fri Nov 30, 2012 1:26 am

I plan on taking the February 2013 LSAT and applying to law school for Fall 2013. However, given the current situation of declining applications (down 22% since 2012 according to PreLaw Magazine) and poor job prospects leading people away from law school, what are my chances of being accepted into a law school ranked 18-50 in the 2012-2013 cycle? I have two bachelors degree (microbiology 3.00 and history 3.90 GPA). As far as my LSAT score goes I have only taken one practice LSAT (PrepTest 66) without study, due to finishing up school, and scored a 157. Since I graduate this December, I will have all Christmas break and January to prep (approximately 9 weeks after finals). Can I raise my score by 10 or 15 points? Also, will my chances for acceptance to an 18-50 ranked law school be good during this particular down year?

This is my first time posting on here. I figure it wouldn't hurt to get some various opinions from people on these forums who have been in, or are in the game. Thanks for all your feedback.

You absolutely should not take the LSAT in February and go to LS in February. Many schools won't even accept your LSAT

That's not true. Almost all schools accept February LSAT. There are 5-6 that don't. Taking February test for Fall 2013 admission is discouraged as many seats are already taken, but if he wants to give it a try then he can. If he doesn't get it, then he can retry.
