No shot at Chicago. Even with ED. Will probably get Cornell. Georgetown and Michigan are possibilities, but not likely.

You already know the answer is retake. An extra point on the LSAT is better than an early application.

lol

I was in this exact situation 1 year ago (3.78 gpa but same difference) Pt'd in 170-174s and got a 167.

decided to wait a year instead of going to LS right after UG.

Well worth it. Now I get a year off to enjoy before LS, my senior year in UG got my 3.78 to a 3.84 and my lsat retake was much better.

Yes, at the moment the perceived disadvantage I had of applying late was 90% of the reason I decided against a Dec. retake and to wait for this year's cycle.

In retrospect, considering how I was burned out on the Oct LSAT when I took it and that being one of many reasons I think I under-performed, waiting as long as I did to retake was without a doubt the correct choice for me.

At the same time, I did lose a year off my cycle. At the moment, I wanted to be the 21 year old in law school. In retrospect, it seems so silly.

A year with freedom when you are young is a godsend.
LS isn't going anywhere.
I have nothing against my decision to take a year off from that cycle, even if I wouldn't have been disadvantaged in applying late.

Depends upon your goals & situation. Clearly, the safest & wisest response is to retake, but you could apply to a few schools this cycle just to see what options arise.
