If you're asking this question, the answer is yes. Retake for increased $$$$ and better chances at CCN

But is the later application time gonna outweigh the (hypothetically) increased score?

No, and if you do somehow underperform your numbers you can reapply.

Best advice, apply. Eveteryone on TLS is always very negative and will always tell you to retake unless you have a 179. Write a strong application. That is the best you can do.
