Where do you think I stand? 2.6/165~

Just took the October LSAT and I have to indulge my curiosity. I will finish my UG with a 2.6 GPA. I have what I consider to be a strong grade addendum (displaced from my home/fucked up a year of my school) and have a strong upward trend.

Based off of the over 25 prep tests I took and how I felt after the test I feel as though I will score a 165-170 on the LSAT.

Where do you think I stand the best chance? I am a VA resident fwiw.

Thanks!

If you dominated it, and got a 170+ I think sending UVA an app could be worth a shot.

Otherwise with a 2.6/165+ combo, you'll definitely have to open up to where you want to go to school. Since you'd be considered a splitter, schools to check out are:

Alabama
UGA
SMU
WUSTL
Minn
George Washington

and other similar regional schools that are splitter friendly. (most of the ones listed are reachable with around a 167)

Thanks for info, I am open to any suggestions and just genuinely don't know where I stand. sorting through the charts of often inconsistent data isn't as informative as talking through it on the forum!

Additional notes to my OP, I'd be legacy at UVA and I worked full time to support myself during the year that I got poor grades. I know that kind of stuff isn't huge but I'm just painting a larger picture.

Being a splitter blows if you have a specific area you want to work in. Some people may say to get some work experience, nail the LSAT, and apply to Northwestern. I think the lowest GPA I've seen get into UVA is around a 2.8 for a non urm, could be wrong though. I'm not sure how things will change due to the decrease in admissions, guess we'll find out.

I would like to stay in Virginia ideally but definitely not opposed to out of state. I could see my self attending W&L, UofR, GMU, or W&M although I don't know the likelihood of W&L GMU or W&M with my numbers.

Definitely target those schools, but if you have the extra cash, sending a few apps towards some of the schools I mentioned could have some value in leverage or better placements.

Thanks for the advice! I'll update this when I have my LSAT in a couple weeks.
