How much does a second degree matter?

Postby Airtafari » Tue Sep 11, 2012 12:27 pm

My first degree was in political science with under a 3.0 due to family circumstances (became a new father). I took a year off and now am finishing my second degree in English with a better gap (about 3.4). Will only the first degree matter or will the second as well?

You might try searching on this forum, but see the response from "dta" here:

If you have already graduated, you are probably stuck with your first UGPA. You could write an addendum which would help you a little because having a child is definitely an extenuating circumstance, but addendums only go so far and your newer GPA isn't great either. (Not trying to hate, I have a 3.4 too.)
