Chances at #7's to #14?

Postby wtrc » Mon Aug 20, 2012 1:21 pm

3.97 GPA at a decent state school. Recalculated to a 3.85.

166 LSAT.

Currently Chief of Staff at a criminal-justice oriented non-profit in DC area.

Thanks!

You should be IN with an ED to UVA

but you should really retake and you'll open up everything

I would think Northwestern would look favorable upon your WE and Berkley would dig your GPA. Retaking the LSAT and scoring a few points higher would REALLY open up your possibilities, though. I'm talking about Harvard.

Thank you! I haven't really looked at the LSAT since June 2011, but the question now is whether to cram for the October exam and apply for the 2013 cycle, or take my time and wait a year until 2014, giving me more time to study. Hm.

You could also apply this cycle, and then retake in December.

take time, retake and apply next cycle. With a 3.97 if you break roughly 172/173 you should have a great shot at 2 of HYS and should be in everywhere else with money from mid t14 down.

Ehh, maybe not with the 3.85 LSDAS GPA.

OP, definitely retake. If you won't be fully ready by October, do it in December. Look at LSN if you need motivation. (Also, hi! I remember you from the waiting thread.)

In ED to UVA, as others have suggested. Cornell might bite b/c of your GPA. NU and Berkeley are probably out

Out at the rest

Thinking of waiting another year, more work experience, and retaking LSAT. With a 172 or 173, would I have a decent shot at one or two of HYS?

LSN has people with similar in... but it's still on the lowish end in some cases.

Yes.

You would have plus work experience, median LSAT, and near median GPA. You'd be in H or S, maybe Y, and CCN with money.

I dunno, unqualified in S or H seems a little optimistic (considering they have often waitlisted/rejected people with higher numbers). Shot at both, but wouldn't count my eggs yet. Money elsewhere though.

mylsn says you have 80-90% shot (and the 10%-20% are WL, not rejects) at H with your numbers and a 60%+ chance at S with a 172-173.
