Not sure this should be a "What Are My Chances?" thread, but i have this question for anyone who knows.

If you apply to law school AFTER completing grad school, your L school won't really give a shit about your grad school gpa (other than a strong soft, at best), because they don't really report it to U.S. News.

What about applying to Business School after getting a J.D? Won't having a high (3.6) law school GPA really convince them that you could handle an MBA? Or do they not give a shit about your post-undergrad GPA, like law schools? Does anyone know?

I understand that many will suggest that getting a MBA after a JD is excessive and wasteful. I'm inclined to agree with them...

It's a more holistic process so I imagine that law school GPA would matter more than the inverse situation. However, work experience is critical. So if you go straight JD --> MBA it won't go over well.

I agree. Despite what many seem to think on this forum, I've noticed that there is a lot of options for lateral movement with a JD. Many of my colleagues have done it and I'm sure you can too!

No worthwhile business school program is concerned about your ability to handle business school.
