3.67 GPA / 178 LSAT

Postby phelps84 » Wed Aug 01, 2012 2:52 pm

Hi, I'm a new user here.. I graduated in 2011 and have been working at a consulting firm for the past year.

I scored a 178 on the June 2012 LSAT, and am going to be applying for fall 2013. What would you say my chances are at Yale/Harvard/Stanford, as well as Columbia or UChicago?

Thanks for any help, appreciate it!

likely in at CCN and possible at H. Out at YS unless you have some incredible soft factor you didn't mention

I graduated a year early, not sure how big an impact (if any) that would have.

none

ETA: don't completely write off S and Y. You will probably make the waitlist, and next cycle will be strange again like this one, so anything can happen from the WL

I'd actually give you around a 75 percent shot at Harvard, based on the 4 or 5 people with your numbers from this year.

no problem. Stick around for personal statement advice and then later for how to do well in school and how to get a job. This site's great.

Any other probability experts have any thoughts? Just curious on how comfortable I should be that I'll end up at a T5..

You'll definitely get into more than one of CCN. Everything JMJ said is right on.

Hey, at least your school isn't involved in a sex scandal. I knew I should've gone to a state school with integrity :<

Blanket the T14, then pick among CCN and MVPB based on your tolerance for debt, maybe H if you get lucky.

And send one application to Cooley, would be lulzy if you gave an admissions dean a heart attack.

hey there. i had slightly higher numbers than you, (gpa 3.8 ) and also graduated a year early. got into H this cycle. i think you have a good shot at H based on what i've seen this year. maybe you won't get in right away but i think you have a good shot to get in eventually. CCN i'm not sure, i actually got wait listed by CC, might've been a YP though. good luck!
