166/3.6

Post by MustacheMarshall » Thu Jul 26, 2012 10:19 pm

166/3.6
Top 20 UG.
Bad freshman year, worked hard last two years (graduated in three years by overloading).
Worked part-time during school, full-time summers.
I've been working full time in an office since I graduated last summer.
Normal softs.

Any idea where I might get in? Reaches? Should I ED anywhere?

Your thoughts are appreciated. :)

Where are you from? Where do you want to work? At the moment you are looking at partial scholarships to solid regionals: Fordham / BC / BU / UIUC etc. a retake, however, is likely in your best interests. Three or four more points and you're looking at the t14.

From the Northeast, looking to work in Boston or DC (would obviously head to NY if I got offers).

I've been considering a retake. I'm not worried about all the studying/stress of it all over again but I'm a little nervous about getting a lower/identical score. My last 10 or so PTs before I took the test were all in the mid-170s, so I honestly have no idea how I got that 166. I wasn't stressed or tired and I felt fine coming out of it, so the risk of this happening again freaks me out.

What T30M said.

You have a good shot at BC/BU/F
Youll need a few more points for T14 or even GW
Definitely retake. A lower score wont hurt you. A higher score changes everything.

Thanks, Nova (and T30M). I'm just going to suck it up and retake. It makes the most sense.

good luck! And just to assuage your lower score worries, I scored 7 (yes, 7- I bit it) points lower on my second test and my cycle went as if that score didn't even exist. So, even if you end up not improving, it's worth the try.

I'm sorry to hear that, but it makes me feel SO much better! Thanks, Scarlet!
