Just work on your essays and recommendations right now..with your stats you should be in at all t-14 schools.
Also regarding Yale, work really hard on that 250. Don't slack on it because of you have great URM numbers
ALso make sure you registered for CRS (on LSAC), you should receive fee waivers from Columbia down.

LOL your safeties are Harvard and Stanford. Your target is Yale. ITE don't waste time going to Columbia or below (even with a scholarship). Congrats!

This, but I will concede that CLS full ride v. H is a valid debate... (if interested in Big Law)BruceWayne wrote:LOL your safeties are Harvard and Stanford. Your target is Yale. ITE don't waste time going to Columbia or below (even with a scholarship). Congrats!

I guess. But the thing is that Harvard guarantees a black male a summer associate position somewhere--even in a secondary market if he wants it and has ties to that market. Whereas Columbia doesn't even guarantee one in NYC; and definitely won't get him one in a secondary market unless he gets median or above.TLSwag wrote:This, but I will concede that CLS full ride v. You could get waitlisted at CLS and/or Chicago, since they know you're basically a stone-cold lock for at least two if not all three of YHS.kcam1991 wrote:Now that I got my LSAT and lsac gpa wanted to know my chances at the T6 and berkeley.
Admission to any law school in the country is really yours to lose. Just treat the process with the respect it deserves and put forth your best effort. Best of luck!

FYI if you want to end up in south Florida you basically HAVE to go to one of HYS (preferably YS). Going to anything below that SUBSTANTIALLY decreases your chances at working in South Florida--basically down to close to zero.

Most definitely. South Florida is a VERY small market. They're like what,10 firms that regularly hire summers? On top of that, many of those no offer a significant number of their summers. The other thing is that Florida is a market where they are going to prefer people with sky high grades from Florida, Florida State, Miami, and Stetson over median and below at a non HYS top 14. Also keep in mind that the rest of the top 14 demarcations have more to do with admissions and US News rank than actual job placement.kcam1991 wrote:Even if I have ties (born and raised)?BruceWayne wrote:FYI if you want to end up in south Florida you basically HAVE to go to one of HYS (preferably YS). I know people who interviewed in that market and who applied--ALL of them actually happened to be from Miami. Only ONE of them landed a spot at a Miami firm and he/she is bi-lingual with strong professional work experience. If you have any desire to work in South Florida you will not attend anything other than HYS--and preferably Yale or Stanford at that. Columbia on down really puts you in a position where you are unlikely to be able to work in South Florida. Just be happy that you will actually even have this option!
