PLEASE HELP MY SON!!!

Post by MypoorBrantley » Thu Jul 19, 2012 1:16 pm

Please, anyone with knowledge of the admissions process please help. My wonderful son XXXX is applying to schools next year, but he has got himself in a bit of a buggaboo. As any worried mother would, I have taken it upon myself to save him. He graduated with honors from school with a 4.0 (Praise) and recently received his lsats score back which was a 180 (Praise). My cause for concern is that this June test was his second time taking the lsats. He did really poorly his first time around (178, no praise), and I want to know what schools will take a student knowing he did so poorly on the lsats at one point. Now his father and I have already beat him several times over for his folly, so please no suggestions that we physically punish him, as we already have done that. He assures us that he will put forth more effort in his studies henceforth. So please, any helpful insight would be greatly appreciated.

With love,

Mrs. XXXXX

I am guessing flame.

Otherwise, you'd better edit this thing all to hell before the TLS parent police bash you for your helicopter parenting.

In the sake of trying to be helpful should this have any truth to it, schools won't care that the 180 was a retake.

The 180 was probably an anomaly. Have him take it again. Just to be safe.

This is a perfect example of good parenting. Brantley White is going to be a very successful litigator.

I encourage him to retake though, just so we know the 180 is not a fluke (god willing).

Thank you all for your wonder, blessed, wholesome comments. I already thought of advising my young son to retake, but I feel he is too stupid to do any better (unfortunately, has has his father's genes). On a side note, buggaboo is an old Swedish saying that could be described as a bind, jam, or problematic situation. I will relay your words of wisdom to my son who, as a matter of fact, is running quite the temperature now, so I must care to him.

Thank you all

If he can ONLY do a 180 on the LSAT. He should consider a different career. The rest of us do way better than that.

Oh dear...this is more serious than I thought.

You see, Mam, your son is rebelling against you and your husband. The 178 on the LSAT is simply his way of not caring about your wishes that he succeeds.

I think as enlisted recruit into the Marine Corps your son will learn the necessary discipline to mature into a fine young citizen.

Otherwise he might develope into a menace to society.

Sincerely,
EnchantedJockstrap
