I realize that both predictors are not set-in-stone guarantees. That said, LSAC and LSP seem to give splitters dramatically different results. Inputting a 175 and 3.70 into LSAC gives me, for example, a 30% chance of acceptance to Cornell. The same numbers into LSP gives me an admit, which they set at an 87% chance. The same is largely true for other schools of the same caliber... LSP give predictions that are significantly more optimistic than LSAC. Can anybody who has been through a cycle, or who knows anything more about this discrepancy help me out?

Fair enough, thanks. I did notice that LSN tends towards LSP's predictions. I guess part of me is just curious as to why LSAC is so... pessimistic, for lack of a better term.

I wouldn't hold much credence to LSP or LSAC predictor numbers. If you check out LSN you will see a fair number of applicants out perform their LSP numbers. If you are splitter (like myself) then LSP it useless.

I do wonder how LSAC calculates their chances.

I'm well above both 75th percentiles at Notre Dame, but LSAC only gives me a 50% chance. That is, saying that I have a 50% chance, when my numbers put me above at least 80% of accepted individuals. It's very strange.

I had between a 4% and 10% chance to get into each of the schools I got into with LSAC's calculator. Worthless thing that.
