NYU LLM

I like tax law. I'd also like to make a lot of money. My slightly above median at an approximately 65th ranked school isn't cutting it, however, for the 2nd part.
Any chance that an NYU LLM could correct the problem? Or would I still be stuck with zero big law prospects? I know a biglaw associate who went Hofstra to NYU LLM to Biglaw. But I think he was top 10% at Hofstra......Bottom line, I don't want to tack on $55,000 of debt for no increase in prospects.
