I've consulted hourumd and lawschoolnumbers a lot, but I'd like to get some opinions from fellow TLS users regarding my stats.
U of M is my number 1 choice, but it would be very difficult for me to afford sticker price and I'm worried about hurting my chances for financial aid if I apply ED. I'd love your feedback!

Apply as early in the cycle as possible, don't ED, write a why Michigan essay, you'll get 45k from UM

Yeahhh, I don't think you need to ED UMich. With a retake in October 172+, I think you can ask them to up any scholarship offer further.

No need to ED. Instead, ED to NU and see if you get the 150k.

Applications should be down next year. Only ED Northwestern for a shot at a $150,000 scholarship (as suggested above). Apply RD to any T-14 that is of interest to you as the upcoming cycle promises to be less predictable than recent years.

When someone says Michigan/Cornell/UT is their top choice, I think we should assume, for the sake of discussion, that there's a significant reason to choose those schools specifically over the decent shot/lock with good retake OP has at NYU/Chicago/H.
Having said that, break up with your boyfriend that you've had for 5 years if it means a full ride at somewhere like NYU.
