I may re-take. Haven't decided yet. But, if my LSAT score remains at 165, do I have a legitimate shot?

I don't know if it's my LSAC GPA but I don't think it's calculated incorrectly.

I'd like to live in New York. I want to do Corporate Law.

Depends, I'll leave it to others more aware of the situation to respond. But I'm also willing to bet there will be calls for a retake, so pre-emptively I'll ask — do you think you studied enough for the exam you scored a 165 on? It's certainly a very good score, but you have a very good GPA and if there's a chance to improve...

Check to make sure the numbers are calculated correctly by making sure it meets these criteria. The notable ones are that withdrawals must be nonpunitive, that retakes of classes that are "forgiven" don't count, and courses that your school doesn't count (e.g. ROTC) may still be counted.

Yeah, none of the restrictions apply to me. I go to a regular university, take a full course load every year, and haven't dropped/re-taken any classes.

Okay, solid, just wanted to check. Congrats on the good GPA! Any thoughts on the LSAT retake? What did you do to prep for the exam? BTW as I said before 165 is a great score, but inquiring minds want to know...

Canadian GPA is the same.

And I'm not sure. I'm just curious regarding my chances at a T14.

Try Michigan, Duke, Georgetown & Cornell. US law school applications are expected to decline even further next cycle, while Canadian law school applications are likely to increase again.

As you may know, US law schools weigh the LSAT much more heavily than do Canadian law schools--where the reverse is true. A score of 165 on the LSAT is a bit low for a non-URM T-14 applicant.

Oh - for what it's worth, my GPA is out of 4.00 not 4.40.

Also, Toronto students (Canada's most expensive law school, I believe) are concerned with rising tuition & fees that approach $29,000 per year, yet Northwestern, Cornell & UC-Berkely all exceed $50,000 US per year tuition & fees. The rest of the Top 14 law schools are at or slightly below $50,000 US per year for tuition & fees only. Many T-14 suggest that law students budget $75,000 -- $78,000 per academic year when including books, room & board, incidentals & travel.

Fiddling with LSN shows me that it seems pretty unlikely to break into the T14 without an early decision application. What's your financial situation? How debt-averse are you?
