I am specifically looking for feedback on how much of a bump being an Iraq War Veteran with 7 years of service gives at T14 schools. My dream is Stanford, but without a significant bump for being a vet, I dont see that happening... thoughts on that and the other T14?

I really don't know if you get a serious bump or not, but the T14 is in your future with your resume and your numbers. Stanford might be a stretch. Thanks for doing what you do and good luck to you in the application process.

Expect to be in at least one of CCN and pretty much everywhere below that. HYS is a stretch, but you should certainly apply.

I agree with duckmoney. I'm an Iraq vet with similar stats (higher GPA but slightly lower LSAT). I attend one of CCN but also didn't apply to HYS.

Thanks for the replies. Also, anyone out there with similar stats/service with success at HYS? I know it's a long shot, but one can hope! of CCN I like Chicago a lot, anyone have advice or experience with Chicago and veterans?

Seriously though, with your numbers alone you've got a great shot at anywhere but HYS, and I see no reason why applying to all three would be a waste of your time/resources.

Thanks for your service!

You should DEFINITELY apply to HYS. I'm an Air Force vet with OEF deployments. My stats are in my profile; you're in better shape than I was, and I got waitlisted at Yale and will be attending Harvard this fall. Throw a line out, see who bites!

Errah! Anecdotal, but I know of several Marines who've had luck getting into Harvard with numbers similar to yours. They love them some leathernecks. Also, I hope you haven't exhausted your GI benefits -- Harvard's contribution to the Yellow Ribbon program = $0 tuition for us vets.

Not a URM, but have an interesting background I think... (1 of 7 children, first to graduate highschool, only to graduate college, poor upbringing, etc...) so maybe I write a diversity statement?

I really appreciate all of the input, it's all very encouraging. I have strong recs and am working on a PS now. Will apply to all T14 as soon as applications open for fall 13.

Also, GREAT to hear about Yellow Ribbon at HLS. I took a B-billet specifically to ensure I get 100% GI Bill...

Maybe one of HYS and Maybe two of CCN. Below that, you looking at money and a comfortable life. Thanks for serving, and hope the best of your cycle. Apply early as shit, get personalized PS, and you be looking at a very good cycle. Congrats.

Thanks! If I had a shot at 1 HYS and 2 CCN that would be incredible, and more than I hoped for. I intend to submit applications the day that each are accepting them. I am concerned about my GPA though, I've read some of the threads about GPA floors and most seem to be soft floors, if at all, however it does concern me. It's frustrating that you can't do anything about the GPA! I hope that, since I graduated in 2006, that my lower GPA (for T-6) will be somewhat mitigated by my work experience in the military.
