Below GPA median, 1 point above LSAT median -- I'd venture low. It seems like Columbia takes people off of ED that would get in RD no problem. I'd save the ED (maybe Chicago).jbc7 wrote:High chance or low chance?

I'm new here, and this sounds like a dumb question, but can you only apply to one school ED?

Yes you can only have 1 ED app out at any given time. But you can ED several times during the entire cycle. If the school you ED to either rejects or waitlists you, you are free to ED to another school.echamberlin8 wrote:I'm new here, and this sounds like a dumb question, but can you only apply to one school ED?

What schools can you apply ED to after your application? For example, I have heard that Virginia allows you to change your application to ED after you submit it...if I applied ED to Columbia and got waitlisted, can I change my application to ED at Chicago if I don't get in?t14fanboy wrote:Yes you can only have 1 ED app out at any given time. Also, there seems to be conflict over applying ED to Columbia and what boost it gives, with most people believing you have a better chance applying RD. What is the reason for this? It seems to me that applying ED signifies that you're extremely interested in the school and helps with YP (I know that at a school like Columbia, they have a high percentage of admitted applicants matriculate, but it still seems like a lot of people who get into Columbia may also get into YSH or get money from other T14s).

Hmm...learn something new every day. I haven't even taken my LSAT yet, but I was hoping to apply early to NYU and Columbia, since those are kind-of reaches for my GPA (3.73), but they're also my dream schools.
