how much do law schools look at trends in your transcript?

General consensus is that grade trends are at best a tiebreaker between two candidates with similar/identical numbers. On the bright side, a 171 with a 3.5 should easily get you into a t-14 school. However, if you are just now applying to law school you are a bit behind the curve.
