So my GPA is shit. I have my eye on a couple of lower tier 2 schools, can any of you wonderfully helpful individuals point me in the direction of some good schools to look at?
For example- how would my chances be at Syracuse, and if I get in, is that school even worth the price?

Re: Syracuse
Both of my parents went there and, while it was a good 25 years ago, they both ended up with excellent jobs. (They graduated in the top 10% of their class, which might have something to do with it). My mom ended up at a big law firm in Buffalo and also worked for the ACLU (but doesn't practice anymore). My dad worked at a firm in Buffalo, too, but now we live in NYC and he's general counsel at a big risk management company and kind of making bank (they just bought an apartment in the Flatiron District).
I don't know how relevant their experiences are for you, since they graduated from law school such a long time ago, but I guess it's a lesson in how much you can do with great grades from a mediocre law school.

OP - Don't sell yourself short. My biggest regret from my app cycle last year was that I applied to way too many T2s and T3s, and not enough "reaches." Look at some of the lower T1s...depending on what region you want to be in, you'll probably get in somewhere decent, maybe even with $. LSN can be your best friend, and you should get some serious hope from that site.
good luck!
