i have a 2.79/164, do i have a shot at SMU FT?

Depends upon the applicant pool this cycle. Can you apply to both the full-time & part-time programs at SMU ?

yea but i really only want to do FT..i saw some people with similar stats on LSN get in last year, and the year before as well...both cycles had more applicants than there are going to be this year

SMU usually has a magic number for auto admit..a few years ago it was 164, but last year i think it may have been 165..any idea what trend there aiming for this year?

Applications may be down this year nationally. If down at SMU, this may increase your chance for admission. Not sure, but you are probably a splitter at SMU; if so, then your recommendations, personal statement & non-numerical factors are likely to come into play. How well can you explain the low GPA & still present yourself as a mature applicant ?
