I got a 172 on the October LSAT, and have a current LSAC GPA of 3.67 as a philosophy major (it's probably going to stay around there once this semester is complete). I've looked at LSN and LSP, but I'm worried that my lack of softs may drag me down. I have decent LoRs, but little in the way of extracurriculars, and no post-college work experience as I'm applying straight out of undergrad. I'm an upper-middle class white guy, so not a whole lot in the diversity department.
Really, I'm aiming for any T14 school, but NYU and Michigan are particularly attractive. Please let me know what your thoughts are, I'm willing to take any and all advice. Also, a huge thanks to you TLS'ers in general for all the help you guys and gals have been so far!

Out at NYU for the most part *maybe an ED will help, but I doubt it* - good shot at Michigan if you apply now. Lock if you ED.

Re: 3.67/172 Chances
Thanks for the input. I'm disappointed that NYU is such a distant possibility, especially since I feel I could have done better on the LSAT but I don't think it would be worth the risk to retake a 172. Guess I'll be shooting for Michigan.

I think there is a pretty decent chance you get into NYU- not sure the basis for the other poster's input.

Don't ED you've got a decent shot at NYU RD. With a good Why Michigan you'll be in with 54k.

Thanks for the encouragement all! I'm going to try to put my app's out as soon as possible (ideally within the next two weeks).

Yeah I think you've got a solid (at least 50/50) chance everywhere except HYS. Nice numbers, and who are some of your favorite philosophers?

LSN should be fine. Lack of softs is NBD.

I have identical numbers as OP with a previous 167 as well. Hoping for either NYU or UPenn. Good luck to you!

At the moment, Wittgenstein holds a particularly special place in my heart. I've been studying his Philosophical Investigations this semester, and it's really changed my thoughts on a lot of philosophy. Definitely recommended.
