162 is 3rd retake by the way....
I know I know.

Where to apply now? I'm in TX, so I'm mostly aiming at Houston. Thanks for any feedback, I know this forum is getting blown up at the moment.

If you're looking at SMU you should apply ASAP. Solid SMU apps will have your GPA and higher with a 165+, so the earlier you apply the better your chances. Try emailing their admission office for a fee waiver, but note that you're right at or a below their medians. Generally they're pretty good at responding with fee waivers, though.

UofH is pretty comparable to SMU, so it's a question of location -- for Houston go UofH, for Dallas go SMU. SMU might have a little bit better of a reach elsewhere in Texas, but not much. If you can get a scholly at SMU, then you might be in a position to negotiate, but I wouldn't count on it -- neither school has a reputation for budging from their initial offers.

Thank you so much! I e-mailed SMU yesterday and was told I had to apply for a need based :x . I'd rather not waste the $75 for SMU if Houston wouldn't budge anyway, as I'm really aiming to get out of Dallas.

Well, go back through and look at the last few years from the UofH threads on here...I'm pretty sure I don't recall a single case of a successful scholly negotiation. That doesn't mean it won't happen, though! If you have any questions about SMU (I'm a 1L here), feel free to PM me.
