Where should I apply?

Postby mg87 » Tue Oct 25, 2011 1:46 pm

Hi, I'm new to this board, but the advice looks sound.

I'm paying for applications out of pocket, so I have to be surgical when considering what schools I should I apply for.

For a little perspective, here's some background info: First generation Salvadoran-American, born and raised in Newark NJ. My resume includes working as a staffer for Newark Mayor Cory Booker's reelection (He's writing me a recommendation) and working as a consultant for a business and political firm, under the direct tutelage of Booker's campaign manager and Obama's 2008 NJ Political Director.

Undergrad GPA 3.1/LSAT 164

What schools should I target?

I'm considering:

NYU
UPenn
George Washington U Law School
Fordham
Boston College
Boston University
Cornell
Rutgers (Safe choice)
Etc.

Thank you. The feedback is greatly appreciated.

My transcript was just posted on my LSAC account and my LSAC GPA is a 3.08  . However I apparently had like the second highest score in my graduating class. I don't know if that counts for anything.
