Normally I'd say "what are my chances =/= where should I apply," but this is easy.

ED UVA and be done with it. Unless you have WE and would prefer to ED NW. Other than that, you're looking at money at splitter friendly midwestern T25s (WUSTL, Minn, etc.)

What is "WE"?

And what does it mean for a school to be splitter-friendly?

WE = work experience

Splitter friendly = more likely to accept applicants with good LSATs but bad GPAs

Also, is there any reason I should ED to University of Virginia?

They regularly take people ED who are over one median (you are over the LSAT median). The ED process has a two week turnaround, and you will probably get in. You'll pay sticker though.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but would applying ED to UVA with an over the median LSAT in Late December, Early January still be an admit? Or too late?

Hard to tell. Earlier is better. Much better.

I agree. ED UVA would be almost a lock. You're GPA is quite low for other schools, and unless you REALLY want to go somewhere else, I wouldn't risk it (although ED-ing other schools will give you a shot, none will be as great as UVA)

Don't ED NU just yet without WE. Also because of their of new scholly program, we don't know how ED apps are going to turn out

Just curious-- how do you guys know that about Virginia early decision? I can't find that information on LSN.

These are the ED applicants.
There were 3 applicants with a 3.0, with a 172 and two 173's (2008, 2010, 2011 cycles). All three got in. The guy with 3.0/173 got in last week.

Thanks again Senor Hosh and Grizz. Is there a quick and easy way to find which schools are splitter friendly or is looking for my stats on lsn the best way to do it?

Please let me know if anyone has any other recommendations about what schools to apply / apply strategies. I'm new to TLS so any links to good threads would also be welcome. Thanks!

I'll give you quick rundown but my memory might not serve me well so look on LSN to back it up.

CCN- out; slim chance at NYU ED. Also, they claim to average LSAT but I'm not sure if they actually do. Either way, I wouldn't ED here because it's too risky
MVP- V is good chance ED, Michigan i'm not too sure; Penn seems to be pretty splitter friendly too. I've seen some of their ED applicants and they might be around your numbers (maybe a bit higher). Penn also claims to take a "holistic" approach but not sure if that's true
NU- you need WE for this. If you take a 1-2 years off and get some WE, they might let you in. Before, it was a good chance with ED but they have a new policy where ED acceptances get full scholarships. This might make it more competitive. Since it was implemented this year, it's too soon to tell.
Georgetown- not too sure

Duke and Cornell seem to like GPA so I wouldn't bet on them.

I think WUSTL might give you a good scholly, not too sure though. I haven't done any research outside of T14.

Basically, out of all those, ED to the one you think you have the best chance + your favorite since you won't get any money to any of these anyway. Honestly, without ED you are going to see a lot of waitlists (which are essentially rejects). So if you don't get into your ED school, you probably won't get in anywhere else in T14 IMO (but you can reapply the cycle after). Or you can try applying outside T14 for some money.

This is off memory so just make sure to check LSN again.

Lastly, are you URM? if you are then that changes everything.

WUSTL would give you at least $20k/year
