166/4.07 Chances at T14

Posted: Thu Sep 15, 2011 8:56 pm
by tamoryp
High GPA in math/finance dual degree from ivy
Lowish 166 LSAT
2 years experience in finance
Interested in being legal academic in a pretty specific and uncommon field, my essay is about that.

What should I expect in T14?

Thanks

dude you need to stop giving advice on these boards because it is clear that you have no idea what you are talking about. that is not even close to being right. why don't you tell her to end her ps with "thank you for your time" like you did in the other thread.

judging by your pathetic blog it seems like your the type to lecture ppl to give unsolicted advice when you don't know what the hell you are talking about. stop giving false hope and go focus on your weak LSAT practice scores you clown.

Beyond that, this would be my guess (assuming you're non-URM)

Yale- WL
Harvard- out
Stanford- Possible
Columbia - WL/Hold
Chicago - Possible
NYU- Possible
UPenn - Accepted
UMich - Maybe
Berkeley - Accepted
Virginia - WL Accepted
Duke - Maybe
Northwestern - Accepted ( especially if you ED)
Cornell - Accepted
Georgetown - WL
UT - Maybe
UCLA - Accepted

The 166 is a bit indeterminate, but your WE might counter it.
trololol

He's at least a WL at everywhere from Penn down. I was 165/4.0 1 year post-UG and got WL at Penn, Michigan, UVA, Duke, Berkeley, GULC, and UT. In at Northwestern after being held. I'd have to think a 4.0 from an Ivy in math/finance will be a boost.

I'd say in at Northwestern (may take some extra work. Definitely interview, write a Why X). Likely to get good looks from Berkeley, Penn, and Michigan. If anything, you'll get WL and have to write LOCIs and stuff. UVA is unpredictable because they WL a ton of OOS students. I'd say Northwestern and Berkeley are you best shots.

sorry i consider waitlist an OUT since your chances of getting off are slim, but yeah, you need to focus on boalt and northwestern, the others are a reach.

ED to Penn could work

http://lawschoolnumbers.com/sunflowergirl (may be URM)
http://lawschoolnumbers.com/HeavenWood (white dude, same LSAT, lower GPA)

ED to UVA is also an automatic in.

Considering you've taken the LSAT literally half a dozen times, you seem like the last person that should be making fun of other people's scores.

lol your list is half wrong.

YHSCCN are most definitely out, but MVPD are definite early decision possibilities (my numbers are very similar and I snagged Penn early decision; LSN shows applicants with similar numbers had luck at MD [and of course V] as well). N ED is a possibility as well (if work experience).

THAT'S ME! And although my PS was superb, I'm otherwise no special snowflake.

I believe sunflower girl is "other Hispanic."

But seriously OP, if you want a lower T14 and don't mind sticker, ED to one of MVPD (N if work experience). If you have no preference as to where you end up, ED to UVA ASAP. If that doesn't work, try for Michigan or Penn (and Northwestern if work experience). If those fail, Duke has a round II early decision you could try.

yeah my list is without ED dumbass, congrats on being a reverse splitter, it doesn't make you special, just means you lack the intelligence to score on a logic test and you just got lucky at that TTT undergrad you went to.

Yeah, being in the 94th percentile of LSAT scores sure shows a lack of intelligence.

1) I specifically said I wasn't a special snowflake.

2) You do realize that the difference between a 166 and a 171 (or whatever the hell you scored) is only several questions (four at most) on a 101 point test. If you think those four questions magically make you leaps and bounds more intelligent than I am, all the more power to you.

3) I also didn't get "lucky" at my "TTT" (actually, T60) state school. I concentrated on my strengths and worked extremely hard, all while going through a gut-wrenching ordeal I wouldn't wish on anybody... not even you.

All the LSAT points in the world won't save you from being an egotistical social retard. Good luck at OCI (that is, if you haven't been no-offered already).

Don't bother reasoning with him. This is like his 3rd cycle because he got greedy after originally getting into NYU and kept taking the LSAT only to see his score drop. He's just mad because hen royally screwed himself over. I'd almost feel bad if he weren't such a raging douche.

LOL i was asking if you seriously thought i took it that many times because i could not believe you actually thought that was a real situation. looks like you were the only one who did not pick up on that bud. if you actually think i took it 5 times and then applied for 3 cycles then you are the socially inept one not me hahaha. by the way, looks like you won't be even attending NYU so even if my thread was a real situation you should not be saying anything.

For the TTT undergrad, it seems like your the one who is mad not me if you took the time to defend your paltry 166 and grades at a state school in such depth. (since when does anybody make the distinction of making the top 60? why not top 50 something) lol keep arguing that a 166 is the same as a 171. i bet you think penn is the same as every school above it right? hahaha and congrats on getting a high gpa at a state school.

lastly, i did put OUT for virginia, go look at it again you clown.

This is the second time in this thread you've used "your" instead of "you're." Once, w/e. Twice, while making fun of someone for their general intelligence means you have a problem.
