I love SLC and the U. has a good reputation even among the legal elite (from what I understand, the dean is highly respected).

Chances at Utah?

It could go either way, but try Northwestern; they let people with abysmal GPAs in all the time, provided you've worked anywhere for any amount of time.

OP would have to have >168 for Northwestern. 172 at least with that GPA, probably higher, depending on WE.

Utah has you at a consider on LSP, so if you're instate and have a good app, I think you have a shot.

If you want T25, WUSTL and Indiana Bloomington are probably the only way to get there.

max 68 kids in our class with <3.4, and 168 is below median.

Other schools I'm considering include WUSTL, GWU, Minnesota, Illinois, W&L, Emory, Georgia, Wisconsin, and SMU.

Utah is not splitter-friendly, sorry. However, LSN is has so little data that it's really hard to guess your chances. A guy with a 2.67/164 apparently got in last cycle, but he was non-trad. I wouldn't be surprised actually if you got waitlisted as some sort of pseudo-YP thing, so if you write a Why Utah it could make a big difference. BYU is also very unfriendly towards splitters, unfortunately for you.

It's also hard to say how well a T25 would place you in Utah, due to self-selection. Your list of alternative schools is excellent though. I would add IU-B because they might throw you some of their huge pot of scholly money. SMU would be a major safety school for you, along with W&L, George Mason and American. Arizona and Arizona State might carry over well into Utah as additional regional considerations.

Just keep in mind that outside of the T14, schools are very regional, so if you pick somewhere like WUSTL or GWU, you might be able to get SLC, but be prepared to stay in the Midwest/East Coast.
