Top Law Schools

LSAT: 170
GPA 3.35
Degree: BS in Biology and BA in Business Economics and Certificate in International Business
WE: 3 years as a researcher at one of the top 3 pediatric hospitals in the country,
have been published in professional journals for this research

Really at a loss for where I should start looking at applying...
Any ideas welcome. I'd like to stay east coast, maybe California, but preferably not.

ED GULC or EA Cornell. Midwestern splitter havens will give you good money

Illinois and WUSTL will both give you money. If you have WE, Northwestern is a possibility

You've got a 50/50 shot at RD NU at sticker with those numbers, 172+ would increase those chances significantly. Even without a retake I think with ED you could swing it. In at WUSTL and UIUC with 50K and 80K respectively (you have an outside shot of landing higher money at WUSTL, but a lot of people in your range get that amount). At all three schools you need to be top 50% to service your debt.

Outside of the midwest you have a shot at UVA ED and Cornell EA, with almost a guaranteed WL at both if you RD. ED UVA gives you an answer in two weeks, so I'd probably try UVA ED + Cornell EA (nonbinding) -> NU ED + WUSTL RD and UIUC RD.

1.) If it's higher at Illinois, it will be 90K instead of 80K, but a 170 is usually too low to swing that.
2.) What double ED? Apply to UVA, wait for a decision, then apply to NU.
3.) Sure it's a long shot, but it only delays the ED to NU by two weeks. I think it's worth trying.

NU has a policy stating that if you ED at any time in the cycle to another school, you can't ED to NU. Sorry for the confusion

Would you retake the LSAT and try to improve a two or three?
Will that make a difference in school options and/or money?
