would a 175 get you a spot in Columbia or NYU with a 2.9 GPA? or would no LSAT score make that possible

No it wouldn't. Not even a 180.

Haha that's depressing to think about. I wish I took my undergrad more seriously

It would get you Northwestern with work experience. Maybe UVA with ED, but I'm skeptical.

No chance, ED to NU if you have WE.

good WE might not even need ED... from what I have heard.

Absolutely no chance. Lowest GPAs I've seen accepted were around a 3.45, and those all were URM or had a near perfect LSAT or both.

With NU's emphasis on WE, is it even worth applying there right out of UG? Say I planned on blanketing the top 13 (screw Georgetown), should I save my money and not apply to NU? I have a 3.98 now, say I have bad year and am applying with a 3.9 and a 170, without WE is that an auto ding?

With a 3.98 / 3.9 and 170, you should be aiming higher than NU anyway. MVP is within your range and possibly CCN in a good cycle

OP has a 3.9 now? OP said 175/2.9 in the first post.

Sorry, I convoluted the thread a bit by throwing my own hypothetical in there. The OP has a 2.9, I have a 3.98 but next year (my junior year) is going to be very difficult so I just planned for the worst and saying it'll be somewhere near a 3.9 when I apply.

I threw out my situation there because I wanted to know how strong NU holds to their emphasis on WE, or if they would bend a bit for someone fresh out of UG with real solid numbers.

You should start your own thread. Also, do you have an actual LSAT score?

Nope, hence why I didn't start my own thread. Starting to study this summer so I'm confident I'll get up high. I'll definitely be back when I have my first actual number to start one of these. But still, no one wants to answer my question! Is NU flexible on the WE thing or is that a hard rule? Just curious more than anything, not that I'm gunning for NU or anything.

Please start your own thread and don't confuse our discussion. Also, no one in TLS will chance you unless you have a real LSAT score. And yes, the WE thing is essentially a rule, only a handful of applicants get accepted to NU straight out of UG.

What about OP's stats for MVP?

What about Cornell? It's ranked 13th and Northwestern is ranked 12th. I feel like Cornell would have a hard gpa floor though considering it's Ivy.

I would say virtually no chance either. Michigan has a pretty hard 3.0 floor, Penn has a 3.2ish floor, even UVA ED has a hard 3.0 floor.

First, the discussion had run its course after about one post when people informed the OP that they wouldn't get in because of their GPA. Secondly, I only asked my question because the thread moved in the direction of discussing NU. Third, I didn't ask to be chancde at all and was obviously aware that I couldn't be chanced without an actual LSAT score, which is why I explicitly said as much. I didn't ask to be chanced, just wanted a teeny question answered about NU. Lastly, thanks for finally answering my question.

Cornell has a 3.0 floor as well. Also, the Ivy distinction outside of H and Y is pretty overrated for law schools.

Actually, everyone here assumed your 170/3.9 was real. Also, you pretty much asked us to chance you at NU.
