3.1 / 173 - settle now or try again?

So i was offered admission with 3.1/ 173 at UIUC and GW. Waitlisted at cornell, ucla, vanderbilt, BC and BU. I know the GPA is lowish - its from Georgetown with significant upward trend. Should I wait and try and crack the T14 again? Or accept the 75k at UIUC (or pay full cost at GW)? Or neither is worth it and T14 is a dream? Why are Canadian schools so much cheaper?!!

thanks friends

I think that with that LSAT and a gpa above 3.0 you have a solid shot at the lower 6 or so of the T14. Depending on when you applied, that score might get you 120K at Illinois anyway.

Canadian schools are probably cheaper for the same reason that European schools are virtually free - they're probably subsidized by the state

Yeah, depends on when you applied. Retaking probably isn't going to do you much good with those stats...you could ED NU with work experience or ED UVA and those would both be locks, or you could take the T25 money.

This is not true, the only solid shot at a T14 for OP RD is GULC. OP, I would reapply early next year and do ED UVA as soon as apps open.

OP would prob get UVA ED, might get GULC RD, might get NU RD or ED, might get Cornell and would have a very outside shot at M or P. The only ones I think he has so low of a chance at that he shouldn't bother applying are Duke and Berkeley. I didn;t mean that he would get all of these schools most likely, but I think that he has better than a snowball's chance at most of them.

OP, if you're cool with sticker, follow dpk's advice about UVA, but I think that applying RD to every school I just mentioned is worthwhile and a M ED app might be a good idea. If that gets rejected, you can still late ED at UVA anyway
