"Puffery" refers to an exaggeration or statement that no reasonable person would take as factual. Puffery may be used as a defense to a warranty or fraud claim, to assert that the plaintiff shouldn't have relied on the statements in issue.

Because the way I'm reading it, he's an African immigrant, which may or may not be the same thing in the admissions process.

I was told that you have to be a US citizen to be considered URM, otherwise you're an international student. International students cannot be considered URM. I'm an international student and asked a law school about this and was told the above. The only exception are Canadian First Nations members apparently.spek wrote:subtle wrote:

I'm curious about this. Does one need to be a US citizen to be considered URM? I've never come across this before and figured it wasn't relevant but now I wonder...

It basically says the same thing here: "international students fall into a category of their own"

Well I wonder if it's referring to international students who are not also minorities. To me it reads like "non-minority international students won't get the same boost that URMs would" though of course I have no actual knowledge, just guessing. Seems to me that this would be something to ask admissions offices directly.Chouchous wrote:http://www.top-law-schools.com/urm-applicant-faq.html
