Just recieved Cornell Fee waiver

156 3.3 super strong softs and 1st generation college grad URM. I came home to a package from cornell that I didn't request. I have already been accepted to a few schools. waiting on big ones.

The letter said it would waive the 2/1 deadline for me, so am I special or just a number to deny?

I got one from Columbia the other day; I'm pretty sure this is a desperate ploy to boost selectivity.
