Spoke to a UW-Madison admissions advisor. What to do?

We have already established that with my GPA and current LSAT I'm not getting in to UW. I had a phone appointment with an admissions advisor to ask her a few questions regarding the admissions process.

She told me that if it is my #1 choice, I ought to go ahead and apply this cycle anyway so that next year when they see I've applied again, they will see UW is really where I want to go. She also said I could potentially mention it being my #1 somewhere in my app. The third thing is she said I could submit the Feb. LSAT. I'm coming off a PowerScore class (thought I was taking December, decided not to) and got Kaplan Mastery and the PS Bibles and was going to try the plan posted in the LSAT forum on this site. Problem is I'd be cutting it from 3 months to 2, but I do have the rest of December and first half of January to do serious studying since I don't work. Finally, she said that UW is easier than most places to transfer into, so if I started next year at some T2 or T3 and busted my ass, it may be likely; however, this strikes me as a bad idea for a number of reasons. Opinions?

In the opinions of TLSers, is there any substance to what she told me? Do I waste the money on the app fee this cycle in order to show interest and by next cycle some sort of improvement? Perhaps most importantly, do I take Feb. or just wait til June since even if it does come up in February it's so late it's probably a rejection anyhow? I guess if the February test still won't help me because I'd be an insane splitter, would it be best to not rush the studying and apply with the LSAT I have now? Is 2 months even enough time? Bleh. This is stressful.

Looks like it hurts, too.

How much does it cost to apply? How much do you want to go to this school? These are all decisions that nobody here is qualified to make for you. If I were as interested as attending as you seem to be, I'd apply and retake in June 2011 after several months of intense study. Don't take it in February if you know you're going to be rushing yourself. It already seems like you're comfortable waiting until next cycle anyway.

If spending the application fee this year helps you get in next year, I think you'll be fairly pleased with your investment 12 months from now.

Hardly, considering my statement is still true and it's not my job to go searching though past posts.

sorry. Around a 2.59 (it's not final yet) and a 156 with pretty much no prep, because I'm a jackass.

Thanks for the advice. If she says it may help I guess that is what I need to do. I am pretty set on trying my hardest to get in, which means intense study for June. If I don't get in next cycle I'll probably just accept it and go to Denver (assuming my LSAT comes up). I guess I just wasn't positive if the February would mean anything at all. I'm ok waiting until next cycle; I'm just hoping the firm I intern at has a job for me.

Any more thoughts are appreciated.
