Pretty standard app here. Average Recs, extracirriculars, etc. Do i have a shot at USC?

I don't see why not. Your in the ballpark and it is a total crapshoot afterall - as long as your idea of standard doesn't involve vehicular homicide on your c&f section I'd throw my name into that hat

You are out at USC. Worth an app to WUSTL though, or Illinois.

No, but you should get into GW, WUSTL, Illinois, Minnesota, and Emory. Probably with substantial $ at the last three, too.

just curious, what are you guys basing your opinions on. LSN shows me out and the stats on LSAC don't look promising. Do you think the people that got in with similar numbers are URMs or people with WE

For what it's worth, getting a need-based fee waiver from USC is comparatively easy. I didn't qualify for the LSAC waiver, but got one from USC, so applied even though my chances are close to zero. http://lawweb.usc.edu/how/jd/admissionsInformation.cfm Scroll down, download the form and email it back. I got a response within a week.

They are basing this off of your realistic chances and past applicants. I'm not sure exactly what you're looking at on LSN but it shows nearly everybody under a 3.4 getting WL or rejected (including over a dozen 170+); I would check LSN again for a closer look. However, even if all the odds are against you, if you really like the school, then I say just go for it-IMO, unless you're strapped for cash, why not pay around ~$60 to never have to wonder!

USC rejected every 3.0-3.39/168+ applicant on LSN except for one, and he was a USC alum with good WE.
